GENTAK WORKS ("we", "us" or "our") has established the following policy and works to protect your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information in the mobile applications and PC games we provide (the "Apps") and on this website (gentakworks.com).
Depending on the service, we may collect the following information:
(1) Email address (only when you contact us)
(2) Device information (device ID, OS version, device model, etc.)
(3) App usage information (operation logs, error logs, usage time, etc.)
(4) Advertising identifiers (Google Advertising ID, Apple IDFA, etc.)
(5) IP address
(6) Crash reports and technical information of the Apps
(7) Browser cookie information and anonymous IDs
(8) Browsing information on this website (pages viewed, referrer, country/region, browser and OS type)
(9) If you use a ranking feature: your in-game display name (nickname), score, stage reached, play time, in-game appearance settings and the date and time of the record
(10) An identifier randomly generated on your device for the ranking feature
(11) In-app purchase information (identifiers of purchased products, names of the features unlocked by the purchase, and the results of purchase and restore operations)
(12) An anonymous identifier automatically assigned to manage in-app purchases
(13) If you play online in a PC game: your in-game display name, in-game appearance settings, room settings, chat messages, stamps and gameplay data, and an anonymous identifier issued by Epic Online Services
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
(1) To provide and operate the Apps
(2) To improve the Apps and fix bugs
(3) To create and analyze usage statistics
(4) To display and deliver advertisements
(5) To investigate and resolve system failures and problems
(6) To respond to your inquiries
(7) To comply with laws and regulations
(8) To provide, aggregate and publish rankings
(9) To provide in-app purchases, verify purchases and restore purchased features
(10) To provide online play in PC games (finding rooms, connecting players, chat)
We manage your personal information appropriately and do not disclose it to third parties except in the following cases:
(1) With your consent
(2) To provide advertising services (see "Advertising" below)
(3) To contractors we entrust with work necessary to provide the services you request
(4) As statistical data in a form that does not identify individuals
(5) When we determine it is necessary to protect the rights, interests, reputation or credibility of us, other users or third parties
(6) When disclosure is required by law
(7) When the display name and score you entered are published to other users in a ranking feature
(8) To Google LLC, Apple Inc. and RevenueCat, Inc. for the payment, verification and management of in-app purchases (see "In-App Purchases" below)
(9) To Epic Games, Inc., and to other players in the same room, to provide online play in PC games (see "PC Games on Steam" below)
Some of the Apps display advertisements using Google AdMob. Google AdMob may collect the following information to deliver advertisements and measure their performance:
(1) Advertising identifiers
(2) IP address
(3) Device information
(4) In-app activity data
On iOS, the Apps ask for your permission through App Tracking Transparency before the advertising identifier (IDFA) is used. If you do not allow tracking, the IDFA is not used and you may see less personalized advertisements. You can change this choice at any time in your device settings.
For details, please see the Google Privacy Policy. You can also turn off ad personalization by changing the advertising ID settings on your device.
Some of the Apps provide a ranking feature that shares game scores with other users. In those Apps, the following information is sent automatically to our servers and published to users worldwide as weekly and all-time rankings:
(1) In-game display name (nickname)
(2) Score, stage reached, play time, and the date and time of the record
(3) In-game appearance settings
(4) An identifier randomly generated on your device for the ranking feature
Of the above, only the display name, in-game appearance settings and score are shown to other users. The identifier in (4) is used only to update the records of the same user and is never shown to other users. It is a random number generated by the App on your device, is unrelated to your device or advertising identifiers, and cannot identify you on its own.
The display name is initially a temporary name assigned automatically by the App. You may change it, but the changed name will be shown to other users, so please do not enter your real name, address, phone number, email address or any other information that can identify you.
The servers for this feature use services provided by Cloudflare, Inc., located in the United States (Cloudflare Workers and D1), and the above information is processed and stored on its servers, including outside Japan. Connection information such as IP addresses is also processed by Cloudflare in the course of communication. For details, please see the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Scores are sent to the rankings automatically, and there is currently no setting to turn this off. You can change your display name at any time, and you can ask us to delete your records as described below.
Scores registered on the server are not deleted automatically even if you uninstall the App. To request deletion, please contact us at the address at the end of this policy with the display name and score shown in the ranking.
Some of the Apps offer in-app purchases that unlock features such as removing advertisements. In-app purchases are optional. You can use the basic features of the Apps without making a purchase.
Payments are processed by Google Play, provided by Google LLC, on Android, and by the App Store, provided by Apple Inc., on iOS. Your credit card number, bank account, name, address and other payment information are handled by Google LLC or Apple Inc., and we never receive or store them.
To verify purchases and manage purchased features, we use services provided by RevenueCat, Inc., located in the United States. When you make an in-app purchase, the following information is sent to RevenueCat's servers and processed and stored there, including outside Japan:
(1) Identifiers of purchased products
(2) Names of the features unlocked by the purchase
(3) An anonymous identifier automatically assigned by RevenueCat, Inc.
(4) The purchase receipt issued by Google Play or the App Store
(5) Technical information such as device and OS type, and the IP address used for communication
The above does not include your name, email address or payment method. The identifier in (3) is used only by the App to check the status of your purchases and is not linked to the identifier used for the ranking feature. Purchased features are linked to the Google account (on Android) or Apple ID (on iOS) used for payment. Even if you delete the App or change devices, you can re-enable purchased features by using "Restore Purchases" in the App with the same account. Cancellations and refunds are handled in accordance with the rules of Google Play or the App Store.
Our PC games are distributed on Steam, provided by Valve Corporation. Purchases, achievements and cloud saves are handled by Valve Corporation, and we never receive your payment information. The App may read your Steam display name only to suggest an initial in-game display name on your device. If you keep it, it is used as your in-game display name and shared as described below; it is not sent to our servers. For details, please see the Steam Privacy Policy.
Some of our PC games offer online play with up to three other players. To find rooms and connect players, we use Epic Online Services, provided by Epic Games, Inc., located in the United States. When you play online, the App signs in to Epic Online Services anonymously with an identifier generated on your device (no Epic Games account is required), and the following information is processed on the servers of Epic Games, Inc., including outside Japan:
(1) An anonymous identifier issued by Epic Online Services
(2) Your in-game display name
(3) Room information (room name, host display name, number of players, game version and room ID)
(4) Technical information such as the IP address used for communication
Public rooms, including the room name and the host's display name, are shown to other players looking for a room. Private rooms are not listed and can be joined only with the room ID.
Within a room, your display name, in-game appearance settings, chat messages, stamps and gameplay data (such as your position and throws) are sent to the other players in the room. Players may connect directly to each other, in which case your IP address may be visible to them. Please do not enter your real name, address, phone number, email address or any other information that can identify you in your display name or chat.
We do not have our own servers for online play and do not store chat messages or gameplay data. Room information is removed from Epic Online Services when the room closes. For details, please see the Epic Games Privacy Policy.
Some of the Apps use the camera and photos on your device, for example to take or choose a photo and to save an edited image to your photos. Photos and the data you create from them in the App are stored only on your device and are never sent to us or to third parties. Your device's own backup (iCloud or Google backup) may include this data, according to your device settings.
Access to the camera and photos is requested only when you use these features, and you can turn it off at any time in your device settings. Deleting the data in the App, or deleting the App, removes it from your device.
To understand how this website (gentakworks.com) is used and to improve its content, we use Vercel Web Analytics, an analytics service provided by Vercel Inc. This service does not use cookies and does not store information that identifies individuals. It collects the following:
(1) URLs of the pages viewed and of the referring pages
(2) Country/region (estimated from the IP address; the IP address itself is not stored)
(3) Browser, OS and device type
This website is hosted on servers of Vercel Inc., and technical information such as IP addresses and User-Agent is temporarily processed as access logs when you visit.
This information is processed on the servers of Vercel Inc., located in the United States. For details, please see the Vercel Privacy Policy.
If you do not want to be analyzed, you can stop sending this information by blocking the script with a browser extension or similar tool. Blocking it does not affect your use of this website.
Some DEVLOG articles embed posts from X (formerly Twitter), provided by X Corp. When you view such an article, your browser sends technical information such as your IP address and User-Agent directly to X Corp.'s servers to display the embed, and X Corp. may set cookies. We do not receive this information. We enable the tracking-limiting setting that X Corp. provides for embeds; for details, please see the X Privacy Policy.
We keep your personal information accurate and up to date, and take the necessary technical and organizational measures, such as maintaining security systems and management structures, to prevent unauthorized access, loss, damage, alteration or leakage. However, we cannot guarantee the complete security of information transmitted over the internet.
We retain collected information only for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes of use, as follows:
(1) App usage logs: 2 years from collection
(2) Technical information and error logs: 1 year from collection
(3) Inquiry information: 3 years after the inquiry is resolved
(4) Information registered in rankings (display name, score, identifier, etc.): retained indefinitely, unless you request deletion or the feature is discontinued
(5) In-app purchase information: for as long as necessary to provide and restore purchased features, and as required by law
(6) Online play information in PC games: not stored by us; room information is removed when the room closes
Weekly ranking scores are replaced by the new week's record when a new score is sent after the ranking week changes.
If you uninstall an App, the data on your device is deleted, but statistical data and information registered in rankings on our servers may be retained for the periods above.
You have the following rights:
(1) To request disclosure of the information collected
(2) To request correction, addition or deletion of your personal information
(3) To request suspension of use or erasure of your personal information
(4) To request that we stop providing your personal information to third parties
(5) To reset your advertising identifier (from your device settings)
We will respond to such requests after confirming your identity.
We comply with the laws of Japan and other rules applicable to the personal information we hold, and review and improve this policy as appropriate. We may change this Privacy Policy. Changes take effect when they are published on our website.
